Next week I’ll join colleagues in the Religion, Ideology, and Prosociality Research Project for a week in Bialystok, Poland.
We’ll be staying at a conference center housed in a monastery (see picture above), and working on two different computational models. One aims to simulate the dynamics involved in the tension between source vigilance and content vigilance, based on the broader theory of “epistemic vigilance.” The other aims to simulate the dynamics involved the emergence and change of prosocial behaviors in a social context with varying levels of anxiety, threats, and religiosity.
