Ivan Puga-Gonzalez, Kevin McCaffree and I have had a paper accepted for the 2020 WinterSim conference, which is titled “Best Friends Forever? Modeling the Mechanisms of Friendship Network Formation.”

As the sub-title suggests, the goal was to simulate the emergence of real-world friendship networks. We did this by constructing an artificial society populated with simulated agents, with variables such as worldview, identity, age, gender, and educational attainment.
